Partnership Announcement: CAT Squared

CAT Squared, a leader in manufacturing execution systems (MES) for the food industry, and Starfish, a connectivity platform for supply chain data sharing, have announced a strategic partnership to deliver real-time traceability and FSMA 204 compliance through interoperable supply chain data sharing.

This collaboration allows food manufacturers to connect production floor data captured by CAT Squared’s MES with their broader network of supply chain partners using Starfish’s neutral, secure data-sharing platform. The result is end-to-end traceability, enhanced visibility, and simplified compliance with regulatory frameworks such as FSMA 204.

“CAT Squared excels at capturing high-quality production and quality data at the source. Partnering with Starfish extends that value beyond the plant.”

- Vernon Smith, CEO of CAT Squared.

As part of its Real-Time Supply Chain Traceability Initiative, CAT Squared has introduced two integrated solutions powered by the Starfish interoperability network.

The integrated solution supports GS1 EPCIS standards and harmonizes data from diverse systems without requiring major changes to a company’s existing tech stack. By automating traceability workflows and reducing manual reporting, manufacturers gain greater control over how, when, and with whom data is shared.

“Our mission at Starfish is to make supply chain data more connected and accessible,” said Starfish CEO Wiggs Civitillo. “CAT Squared brings best-in-class plant-level visibility to the table. Together, we’re helping food companies unlock new value from their data—whether it’s for compliance, recall readiness, or supply chain optimization.”

This strategic partnership reflects a shared commitment to interoperability, transparency, and regulatory readiness, delivering a scalable approach to traceability from in-plant operations to external partners and consumers.
